G. Daniel Walker Remembered 1947-2023



It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of G. Daniel "Danny" Walker.


George Daniel Walker, age 76, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, passed away on Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, following a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. Born in Somerville, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of the late George Walker, Jr. and the late Marie (Langer) Walker.


George, known by Dan or Danny, to his friends and family, lived the majority of his life in Bedminster, NJ. He graduated from Clemson University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. Dan had a lifelong passion for aviation, and his career reflected his unwavering dedication to the skies. He owned and operated the Somerset Airport, along with his family, for most of his adult life, fostering a deep connection to the aviation community. He also served as a Chief Pilot and Manager of Flight Operations for Chubb, Inc. in Morristown, NJ, where his expertise and leadership in the field were highly regarded by colleagues and peers. Dan was also affiliated with several Aviation Associations: The QBs (Quiet Birdman) and the NBAA (National Business Aircraft Assoc.). Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years,Diane Walker, his daughter, Pamela Walker, and his sons, Troy Walker, Christopher Walker and Brian Walker.


He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Kylie Walker and Austin Walker and his sister, Ellen (Walker) Parker. A Memorial Service was held for Dan on Saturday, October 14, 2023, 3:00 pm at the Lamington Presbyterian Church (355 Lamington Rd, Bedminster).


A Celebration of Life was held later that day at Somerset Airport with seven decades of SMQ family and friends in attendance--a great tribute to Dan and his memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Parkinson Disease Association, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, The Martin and Edith Stein Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
