'Isn't a little noise worth a life?' she asks

My family has lived in Hunterdon County for more than 30 years. I am shocked and saddened that a small group of people are trying to stop NorthSTAR Medevac from being permanently based at Somerset airport in Bedminster for no apparently good reasons, except they just don't want it there.
To me this is very selfish. This service can only help to save lives; not only do Hunterdon County residents benefit but so do Warren and Somerset counties.
Why is Bedminster Committeeman Kurt Joerger so against this? Is it because he doesn't want the noise of a helicopter near his home when it leaves Somerset Airport to help to save a life? Although I do not believe he would hear it, even if he did, isn't a little noise worth a life?
There is more noise generated by corporate and private helicopters than NorthSTAR could ever make. I am sure Mr. Joerger would want his family members and friends to have the best chance of survival after an accident. NorthSTAR gives us that chance.
I feel if a small group of people can dictate for the masses something is wrong and our elected officials should step in. I am calling on our state senators, state representatives and our governor to speak out and support this effort to keep NorthSTAR at Somerset Airport.
